From: "Character" Subject: New Font - Eclectica (TT + T1 + OTF) Date: Thursday, September 18, 2003 4:13 AM Last week I took advantage of Fry's free with rebate offer for Art Explosion 200,000. It includes a variety of alphabets in .wmf format - the attached font is the result of a couple of days work transforming one of them into a useable font. I'm sure there's an easier way, but I used Illustrator 9 to convert the .wmf's one by one into .ai (and then had to save them in Illustrator version 4 format, because FontLab won't recognize the v9 format), and imported them into Fontlab for resizing, tweaking, and contour correction. The original name was "Abstract", but that name is already in use by Linotype. Eclectica is attached in Truetype, Type1, and OTF. It contains my standard copyright and licensing restrictions - to wit, none whatsoever. There are a couple of others in that package that are worth spending some time on. Enjoy! - Character
