Have you looked at existing fonts that are used for cross-stitch samples, such as the attached? (To see the symbol set, display the font by double-clicking, then go to Start / Run / Charmap and select the font to display) This is the font used by the PC Stitch program - other X-stitch programs probably have their own sets. If you really need your own set, then: If you produce your symbols with corel draw (a bunch to a page, for example) and then EXPORT to a 2-color .bmp or .gif or minimum compression .jpg instead of printing and scanning, your images will be much cleaner and easier to convert to fonts. The "detail" image you posted is multi-color and anti-aliased, all of which has to be removed for them to be "font-worthy". I've attached the result - you'll see that the individual characters are very rough, the straight lines aren't straight, etc. (Of course, in the usual 1/10 of an inch or smaller X-stitch size, it probably doesn't matter!) BTW - It would be easier to keep your related messages together if you post your samples as replies to your message. - Character
