FranciscoLucas Briosa & FrancisoLucas Llana (ASCII) _____________________________________________ ... were created by Pia Frauss in 2003, with High-Logic's FontCreator program. They were updated in 2005, 2007, and in 2010. You have downloaded (the 2010) version 2.00 of both fonts. I hope you'll enjoy these fonts. FranciscoLucas Llana is based on a sample text written at Madrid in 1570, by a man called Francisco Lucas. FranciscoLucas Briosa is an alternate and more swashed version of FranciscoLucas Llana, designed after an alphabet of capitals created by the same writing master, and in the same year 1570. UPDATE 2010 has not only enlarged the dashes and redesigned all of the composite glyphs, in both fonts (and corrected the *dcaron*, *L/lcaron*, and *tcaron*, of course), it has also given FranciscoLucas Llana a new *E*, *W*, *g*, and *y*. As a consequence, the alternate glyphs, which were formerly the same in both fonts, are now different. In FranciscoLucas Llana, you'll find the the following alternate glyphs: - the former *g* instead of the left bracket - a plain *z* instead of the right bracket - the former *E* instead of the left curly bracket - a slender *K* instead of the right curly bracket - a slender *Z* on the bar and broken bar sign. In FranciscoLucas Briosa, you'll find the the following alternate glyphs: - a rather condensed *g* instead of the left bracket - an alternate *y* instead of the right bracket - an alternate *E* instead of the left curly bracket - a very swashed *R* instead of the right curly bracket - a final *e* instead of the bar and broken bar sign Both fonts have a double *long s* on the long s sign, as well as a *st* and a *ct* ligature on the fi and fl keys (in case the fi and fl signs aren't reachable on your computer, you might try the masculine and feminine ordinal indicators, or the 'less-than or equal to', and the 'greater than or equal to' signs). There is no number sign in these fonts. In its place, you'll find a long s. UPDATE 2007 had reduced the files' size, by redesigning the composite glyphs, and corrected some flaws -- above all, an error concerning the lcedilla sign. _________________________________ Disclaimer: 1. WirWenzlaw (ASCII) ___________________________________________ ... was created by Pia Frauss in 2003, with High-Logic's FontCreator program, and updated in 2005, 2007, and 2010. You have downloaded version 1.30 (published in 2010). I hope you'll enjoy this font. WirWenzlaw is free for private use. For commercial use, please visit my "Conditions of Use" page at http://www.pia-frauss.de/imp/cu.htm This is a genuine Bastarda, written at Prague in the year 1400, at the chancery of one Wenzlaw, who was king of Bohemia and Roman king. The font is called after the first two words of that document, saying -- in German -- "We Wenzlaw..." There is no number sign in this font. In its place, you'll find a *long s*. Equally, you'll find an alternate *d* on the bar sign; and the right and left bracket keys contain a double *p* and an alternate *v*. Update 2007 has provided a 'normal' *n* on the underscore, and the *long s* sign in this font will show up as a double *long s*. UPDATE 2007 has, moreover, reduced the file size, by redesigning the composite glyphs, has tried to embellish the figures and the *m*, has corrected the *L/ldot*, and has moved the brackets: the left one to the fi sign, the masculine ordinal indicator, and the 'less-than or equal to' sign, the right one to the fl sign, the feminine ordinal indicator, and the 'greater-than or equal to' sign. UPDATE 2010 has redesigned all of the composite glyphs (correcting the *dcaron*, *L/lcaron*, and *tcaron*), and enlarged the dashes. _________________________________ Disclaimer: 1. Xenippa (ASCII) ________________________________________ ... was created by Pia Frauss in 2003, with High-Logic's FontCreator program, and updated in 2005, 2007, and 2010. You have downloaded version 1.30 (completed in 2010). I hope you'll enjoy this font. Xenippa is free for private use. For commercial use, please visit my "Conditions of Use" page at http://www.pia-frauss.de/imp/cu.htm Based on French Bastarda writing and some -- freely handled -- Rotunda capitals, this font has no match in historic documents. The name 'Xenippa' is Greek and means 'having strange (= not one's own) horses'. UPDATE 2007 has reduced the file size, by redesigning the composite glyps, has added an *s* that sits on the line, as well as a Yen sign, has corrected the *L/ldot*, and has moved some of the special characters. These are now: - an *et* ligature on the left curly bracket - an *st* ligature on the right curly bracket - the new alternate *s* on the bar and broken bar sign - a double *long s* on the long s sign - a *long s*+*t* ligature on the 'not equal' sign The alternate *C* and *E* have gone off to the masculine ordinal indicator (*fi*, 'less than or equal to' sign) and feminine ordinal indicator (*fl*, 'greater than or equal to' sign); and the alternate *G* can be found on the 'divide' sign. The *long s*, however, still keeps its place on the number sign. UPDATE 2010 has enlarged the dashes, has the composite glyphs redesigned (especially the *dcaron*, *L/lcaron*, and *tcaron*), and has created a new *m*. _________________________________ Disclaimer: 1. Xirwena (ASCII) __________________________________________ ... was created by Pia Frauss in 2003, with High-Logic's FontCreator program, and updated in 2005, 2007, and 2010. You have downloaded the 2010 (2.00) version. You are welcome to enjoy this font. Xirwena is free for private use. For commercial use, please visit my "Conditions of Use" page at http://www.pia-frauss.de/imp/cu.htm The Xirwena font's lower case characters are based on a sample from a manuscript copy of Dante's Divina Commedia, written in 1337, and commonly referred to as the Codex Trivulziano. The upper case glyphs, on the other hand, have been inspired by German Bastarda writings from various sources; they are no exact matches, though. Xirwena is a fancy name, and the heraldic lily contained in the font has been inspired by the arms of the city of Florence. There is no number sign in this font. In its place, you'll find a *long s*. Moreover, you'll find a less space-consuming *d* on the bar sign... ... as well as an *ld* ligature and a double *l* on the left and right curly brackets. The *long s* will show up as a double long s. UPDATE 2007 has moved the curly brackets to the fi and fl signs (or the masculine/feminine ordinal indicators, or the 'less/greater than or equal to' signs), has reduced the file size by redesigning the composite glyphs, and has corrected some minor flaws. UPDATE 2010 has redesigned all of the composite glyphs (correcting the *dcaron*, *L/lcaron*, and *tcaron*), and enlarged the dashes. _________________________________ Disclaimer: 1.
